Southeast Michigan native Shannon Crisenberry is the new "Jeopardy!" champion and will be back on stage Wednesday to seek another win after unseating the previous champion.

Shannon Crisenberry, a data annotator from St. Clair, Michigan, beat champion Madeline Kaplan, an editor originally from Toledo, Ohio, and Jeremy Roberts, a technology analyst from Midhurst, Ontario, Canada, on the May 5 "Jeopardy!" episode, according to the jeopardyfan.com.

Crisenberry finished at $38,400, while Kaplan ended in second place at $15,600, and Roberts trailed at $10,000.

Crisenberry is the third Michigan player to appear on the show recently, following Grosse Pointe native and 31-game winner Jamie Ding, and Harsha Hebbale, a crash safety engineer, from Troy.

Crisenberry correctly answered "Who is Celine Dion?" to the Final Jeopardy prompt, "In 2025 Taylor Swift tied Drake & this singer for the most No. 1 albums on Billboard's Canadian Albums chart, with 15." While Roberts also responded correctly, his low wager of $2,800 kept him in third place.

Kaplan answered incorrectly, but only lost $3,000, holding onto second place.
