The View cohost and former Donald Trump staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin revealed “real source of tension” in her marriage to Justin Griffin.

Griffin said she legally can’t drive, which shocked panelist Sunny Hostin.

“You’re like a passenger princess,” a stunned Hostin said.

From Donald Trump‘s first term in the White House to The View, Republican cohost and former political staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin has traversed many roads in life — all without a driver’s license.

The 37-year-old shocked her fellow panelists during Friday’s season finale of the talk show’s 29th season when she revealed that she legally can’t drive.

“I oppose the SAVE America Act. I think it would be overly cumbersome for people to vote. For someone like me? I don’t have a driver’s license. I have an ID, I have a passport,” Griffin revealed as the panel broke down controversy surrounding the aforementioned conservative political proposal that would require Americans to present government identification to cast a ballot.

A stunned Sunny Hostin cut Griffin off to ask, “You don’t drive, girl?” to which Griffin responded with a reference to her husband, Justin Griffin, telling Hostin, “It’s a real source of tension in my marriage. I really need to get my driver’s license.”

Hostin replied with a drawn-out “Oh no!” while Griffin elaborated on her thoughts on the SAVE America Act.

“I’m with 83 percent of Americans in supporting voter ID. In fact, 71 percent of Democrats do — not because I believe that there was widespread voter fraud, there isn’t...” she said, before Hostin cut her off again.

“You’re like a passenger princess,” Hostin quipped. Griffin agreed, telling Hostin, “I am a passenger princess!”

Griffin ultimately finished her thought, calling the SAVE America Act “bad policy in general” because “it would disenfranchise more Republicans” by requiring identification — including “rural voters” who “would most likely not have a passport because they haven’t traveled outside of the country,” in Griffin’s opinion.

She also stressed that she supports policy that fortifies the voting process because it’s “civic engagement, it’s something you need to show up for. I would support, however, making it free to obtain an identification card because there are Americans where that could cost them too much.”

Griffin finished by proposing that election days should be “a federal holiday so people can get off to vote.”

Griffin married her husband in 2021, and the pair welcomed their first child, also named Justin, in February, after a lengthy IVF process that the cohost regularly opened up about on the show.

The former political strategist and CNN commentator spoke about why she named her baby Justin upon her return to The View, as she and her child weathered a “somewhat traumatic” birthing process.

“Once he was born, my placenta got stuck, so I started to hemorrhage. It’s in that moment where, four hours of active labor, you’re finally holding your child, it’s the most magical thing,” Griffin remembered in April on the Behind the Table podcast, noting that she wanted to name her child Justin for his resilience.

“I was like, this is Justin, this is somebody I can only hope is going to be a kind, decent, humble, amazing man like my husband, And it just fit,” she said.

After Friday’s episode, The View won’t return with new episodes until September, when its landmark season 30 kicks off.
