The Game Awards are bringing tidings of comfort and joysticks this December.
The annual awards ceremony for video games first launched in 2014, and this year's highly anticipated event looks to be another exciting presentation, with The Game Awards 2025 streaming live from Los Angeles on Dec. 11.
Not only will awards be handed out to some of the biggest games to take over consoles, but there will also be sneak peeks of exciting upcoming games like the latest titles in the Resident Evil and Tomb Raider series, according to IGN.
With the ceremony being streamed around the world, here's everything to know about how to watch The Game Awards 2025, including what time it's set to start.

The Game Awards start at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT with a 30-minute preshow, followed by the main ceremony. It will also stream live worldwide.
For those watching from outside the U.S., creator and host Geoff Keighley listed the international start times for the awards show on X:

The Game Awards will stream live on various platforms, including YouTube, Twitch and TikTok.
It will also be available to watch on Steam, X, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms. The Game Awards will also be streaming for the first time on Prime Video.
"The great news about this is that it’s additive and we still get to air everywhere we already air the show, and we’re adding Prime Video as a partner, which is really exciting for us," Keighley told Variety in November 2025.

The Game Awards is live, so there isn't a set runtime, but it is expected to be at least three hours.
There is a 30-minute preshow, followed by a ceremony that typically lasts around two and a half hours. According to GameSpot, previous years, like 2024, have lasted closer to four hours.

Video game journalist Geoff Keighley is hosting The Game Awards 2025. He is also the creator and producer of the annual awards show.
In an interview with The Game Business on Dec. 9, Keighley spoke about the event and its growing worldwide audience, noting that The Game Awards team "feel the weight" of putting on a good show.
"We just try and lead in a way of what we think is going to be the best approach. There’s a nervousness always, because you plan all year for these two or three hours," he said. "It can go amazingly great or maybe something will be unexpected and not what we want to see. It’s a rollercoaster."
"But we’re pretty excited about what we’re going to bring to people," Keighley added.

With its 12 nods, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is not only the most nominated game of the year, but it is also the most nominated game in Game Awards history, according to Epic Games.
In addition to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the other five titles nominated for Game of the Year: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
