The Frayare heading back down under in 2027, announcing a huge run of Australian shows spanning their own headline dates and a new edition of LOOKOUT Festival – with 2000s emo-rock favourites Dashboard Confessional and Bastille among the special guests.
The multi-Platinum US rockers will bring their Summer Of Light Tour to Melbourne, Wollongong and Sydney next February, following their sold-out six-date Australian run in 2025. They’ll also stick around to headline a separate February run of Lookout Festival shows, joined across select dates by Bastille, Dashboard Confessional, Killing Heidi and Little Birdy.
The Fray – ‘A Light That Waits’
The run is split into two parts, beginning with a series of indoor headline shows presented by TEG Live.
The Fray will kick things off at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Friday, 5th February alongside Dashboard Confessional and Australian artist Rachael Fahim, before playing Wollongong’s Waves with Fahim on Wednesday, 10th February.
They’ll then reunite with Dashboard for a show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion the following night, before the trio of acts head across the ditch for the tour finale at Auckland’s Eventfinda on Wednesday, 17th February.
Meanwhile, The Fray will also headline four outdoor dates as part of the next Lookout Festival series, joined by British indie-pop favourites Bastille, emo heroes Dashboard Confessional and local legends Killing Heidi and Little Birdy.
Those shows will hit Torquay Common on Saturday, 6th February, Perth’s Kings Park & Botanic Garden on Sunday, 7th February, Speers Point Park in Lake Macquarie on Saturday, 13th February and Queensland’s Sandstone Point Hotel on Sunday, 14th February.
Killing Heidi will appear at all Lookout dates except Perth, while Bastille, Dashboard Confessional and Little Birdy will perform across the entire outdoor run.
The February LOOKOUT run is separate from the previously announced March 2027 edition, which will be co-headlined by LIVE, Stone Temple Pilots and 4 Non Blondes, with Aussie alt-rock legends Magic Dirt also appearing.
The tour arrives as The Fray prepare to release A Light That Waits, their first full-length body of new music in more than a decade and their first as the core trio of Joe King, Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki.
“We had such an incredible time touring in Australia in 2025. The energy from those crowds was unbelievable,” King said in a statement.
“To come back and be able to share A Light That Waits alongside the songs fans have grown up with – and to have our long-time friends Dashboard Confessional with us – is going to make these nights unforgettable.”
The Fray rose to prominence in the early 2000s, scoring a generation-defining hit with How To Save A Life, which is now Diamond-certified in the US and spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
Artist presale tickets for the Summer Of Light Tour will go on sale from 10am local time on Tuesday, 15th September, followed by promoter presales from 10am Wednesday, 16th September.
General tickets go on sale from 10am local time on Thursday, 17th September.
