Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been in jail since Wednesday after he was arrested on charges of kidnapping and armed robbery. On Monday, he’ll find out if he must remain in custody.
The 23-year-old Arnold is due for a hearing Monday morning, which will determine whether the cornerback will continue to be held in jail, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Arnold, the Lions’ first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, was arrested Wednesday on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. Arnold was charged with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of armed robbery, one court of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. The kidnapping charges on their own carry a maximum of life in prison.
That same day, a judge ruled Arnold would remain in custody due to the “dangerous” nature of the crimes in which he was accused.

Arnold is accused of plotting a kidnapping and interrogation of three men who were accused of stealing more than $250,000 in personal property from the six defendants — including Arnold — involved in the case. One of the men allegedly kidnapped was Arnold’s personal driver. The other two were the driver’s associates.
Investigators claim they found a group chat in which Arnold and another one of the defenders were issuing instructions to the kidnappers during the alleged assault. Two of the defendants reportedly reached a plea deal with prosecutors, which may have led to Arnold’s arrest.
Shortly after Arnold’s arrest, the Lions said they were aware of the situation and gathering information.
Arnold hasn’t lived up to his lofty expectations after just 24 games in the NFL. The cornerback has started 22 of those contests, but has just one interception so far. He ranked 97th out of 114 cornerbacks last season, per PFF’s grades, though did miss over half the season due to a shoulder injury.
