The Team Trump TikTok account used Taylor Swift’s music in multiple posts.
“I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song!” one caption said.
A copyright claim silenced the posts so that they no longer feature Swift’s music.
Taylor Swift is shaking off any association with Donald Trump.
Fans observed that the “Cruel Summer” singer removed her music from multiple TikToks posted by the Team Trump TikTok, an account launched by the president’s campaign during his 2024 bid for the Oval Office.
The most recent video to lose Swift’s music was posted earlier this week. It featured the president and the first lady with their backs turned to the camera as they watched a massive fireworks display.
“Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president,” text on screen said during the video.
The caption of that video seemed to intentionally antagonize Swift, as it said, “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song!”

Though the video originally used the track “August” from 2020’s Folklore, no sound displays on the current version of the video. Attempting to access the song prompts the message: “The copyright owner hasn’t made this sound available in your country.”
Team Trump also lost access to another song, “Father Figure,” from 2025’s The Life of a Showgirl, which the account used to soundtrack a video from November 2025. The video showed Trump alongside his youngest son Barron with the lyric “I was your father figure” written on screen, followed by a clip from his alleged assassination attempt from July 2024 with the lyric “You pulled the wrong trigger” written on screen.
That video ended with a clip of the president waving at a crowd outside the White House from a helicopter with the lyric “This empire belongs to me” written on screen.

“This empire belongs to @President Donald J Trump!” the post said in its caption.
Entertainment Weekly has reached out to a representative for Swift and a representative for the White House for comment.
Trump previously shared an AI-generated image falsely showing Swift endorsing him during his 2024 campaign. He denied knowing where the image came from.

“I don’t know anything about them other than somebody else generated them, I didn’t generate them,” Trump said in a Fox Business interview clip shared to X by the network’s Grady Trimble. “Somebody came out, they said, ‘Oh, look at this.’ These were all made up by other people.”
Swift endorsed Trump’s opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, for the presidency. “Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site,” she said. “It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.”
Trump responded, “she’s a very liberal person, she seems to always endorse a Democrat,” adding, “And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Last month, the White House attempted to troll Swift during the week of her wedding to Travis Kelce by sharing a series of AI posts echoing imagery from her Madison Square Garden ceremony and her various album era aesthetics.
