Event designer Larry Walshe predicts Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding will feature a romantic garden-inspired theme with natural, textural florals
Walshe estimates the floral installations could cost hundreds of thousands to millions for a large-scale wedding like theirs
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement after a floral-filled garden proposal nearly one year ago
It's been almost one year since Travis Kelce popped the question to Taylor Swift in an intimate, enchanted garden proposal filled with thousands of stunning blooms.
With rumors circulating that their wedding will take place before the fall, some might be trying to picture what theme the lovebirds will go with for their highly anticipated big day.
PEOPLE spoke to event designer and floral expert Larry Walshe ā who is not involved in planning their wedding ā all about the potential flowers and decor Swift and Kelce, both 36, might have at their ceremony. The designer, who's spent over a decade in the industry and worked with a number of high-profile clients across his four studio locations in France, Italy, England and the U.S., based his predictions on the couple's proposal aesthetic, their personal styles, the location of their nuptials and the biggest flower trends among engaged A-listers right now.
Walshe says he envisions the couple likely going with an "effortlessly romantic" theme filled with "everything from grasses mixed through to larger florals."

"I'd like to think the ceremony itself will be outside," he adds. "My gut says that it will be very beautifully elegant but understated, relaxed. I think it will feel very garden-inspired, very textural, very much like you've pulled Mother Nature and just given her a helping hand."
He adds of Swift that "there's a bohemian side to her," which is where this lush theme with natural elements could come into play.
"It's almost as if you're taking the idea of looking at the countryside, looking at the rolling hills and meadow flowers, beautiful things that grow wild, which would be my prediction rather than, roses, orchids ā the slightly more obvious route," adds Walshe.
The designer notes that an event like the stars' wedding would require "hundreds of thousands of flowers." While it's difficult to put a price tag on all of the florals and installations their big day would need, he adds: "It's not uncommon for a large-scale wedding to cost many hundreds of thousands, sometimes even into the millions."

Though some fans might question whether the power couple will want to replicate the enchanted fairytale aesthetic of Kelce's proposal, Walshe says he doesn't "necessarily" see that being the case.
"When you think about engagements, that's been planned and organized by one person. The wedding is usually the culmination of the two of you and hopefully your shared values as a couple," he adds, noting that the pair will also likely be keeping their guests in mind during their wedding planning.
"My prediction is sitting in a space where [they're] going to want there to be a celebratory nature to this, but at the same time want people to feel very comfortable, very much considered," Walshe continues. "For example, say, the table florals will be low. Something that allows conversation, that allows people to be able to actually enjoy themselves and be present."

Kelce and Swift have not directly addressed any wedding rumors yet, including where their nuptials will take place, and bride-to-be has been spending plenty of time on the road lately.
One day after surprising fans at the premiere of Toy Story 5 with a performance of her new song "I Knew It, I Knew You," the "Love Story" singer attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 10 at Madison Square Garden, during which she cheered on the New York Knicks in a "Stevie Knicks" T-shirt. Days later, she and Kelce were spotted having a theater date at the Lyceum Theatre on June 13 as they enjoyed Broadway's Oh, Mary! together.

Swift and Kelce were first linked in 2023, when the NFL star revealed he tried to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at one of her Eras Tour concerts. He then publicly declared his interest in Swift on his New Heights podcast in July that year, and they began seeing each other shortly afterwards.
Two years later, the couple announced their engagement in a joint post on Instagram alongside several photos from their floral-filled garden proposal on Tuesday, Aug. 26. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," Swift wrote in the caption.
