Snoop Dogg is adding another historic milestone to his legendary career. The award-winning rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., received exciting news from Team USA after announcing his major role at the Winter Olympics 2026.

Ahead of the highly anticipated sports event, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) named the 54-year-old rapper as its first-ever honorary coach.

“In this new role, Coach Snoop joins the Team Behind the Team: the staff, coaches, medical experts, administrators and partners who help athletes chase their dreams and inspire the nation,” as mentioned in a press release, adding “Known for his passion for community, mentorship and elevating young people, Snoop will lend his signature humor and heart to help motivate Team USA athletes on their road to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 and beyond.”

Moreover, USOPC’s Chief Executive Officer Sarah Hirshland shared how the “Drop it Like it's Hot” hitmaker built an instant connection with mutual respect, genuine curiosity and a lot of laughter upon meeting the team.

The official also highlighted Snoop Dogg’s contagious enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic movement.

Following the thrilling news, the AMA winner took to social media to express his gratitude, especially to Team USA.

OnInstagram, he shared a screenshot of an article along with a message of surprise and disbelief. He also expressed how deeply grateful and humbled he was by the recognition.

Singer-songwriter Jake Tankersley said, “Get it, Coach Snoop!”

This new role with Team USA adds to the music icon’s growing list of sports-related endeavors.

In fact, Snoop Dogg had a major part during the Summer Games in Paris in 2024.

The hip-hop legend served as one of the Olympic torchbearers during the Opening Ceremony and also performed at the event’s Closing Ceremonies.
