Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all reprised their roles from the 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada for The Devil Wears Prada 2
The 2026 sequel sees the characters reunite as they navigate the declining world of print media publishing
Hathaway, Streep, Blunt and Tucci have all enjoyed successful careers since the first film's premiere
A lot has changed at Runway over the last 20 years!
When The Devil Wears Prada premiered in 2006, it introduced Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as a recent college graduate trying to make a name for herself as a journalist. Along the way, she scores the job that "a million girls would kill for," a second assistant position to (fictional) Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep).
However, Andy quickly learns that the job comes with a lot more strings attached than fun perks — including navigating her working relationship with first assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) and mentor Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci).
Two decades after Andy left Runway, she returns to help Miranda and her sidekick Nigel navigate the new digital landscape of media and determine what happens to the glossy magazine next in The Devil Wears Prada 2. Meanwhile, Emily has since moved on and works as an executive at a luxury brand competing with Runway for advertising funds.
From where the characters are now to what the stars have been up to over the last 20 years, here's everything to know about The Devil Wears Prada cast in the first movie and the sequel.

Hathaway reprised her role as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2. However, unlike her character in the first film, Andy is now an experienced journalist who has spent the last 20 years traveling across the world as an investigative reporter.
“You see her come back to Runway from her reporting job and she’s figuring herself out again, professionally and emotionally,” costume designer Molly Rogers told Vogue.
She finds herself returning to Runway as an editor under reigning editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly. Andy teams up with Miranda and Nigel to adapt the magazine to the changing media landscape.
While Hathaway's beloved character has come into her own, the actress has also had plenty of success over the last 20 years. She won an Academy Award for her role in Les Misérables and also starred in hit films Bride Wars, Love & Other Drugs, The Dark Knight Rises, The Intern and The Idea of You.
As for her personal life, Hathaway — who was named PEOPLE's World's Most Beautiful 2026 — has been married to Adam Shulman since 2012, with whom she shares sons Jonathan and Jack.

While Miranda Priestly faced a potential power change as the editor-in-chief of Runway in the first film, she has remained the magazine's boss throughout the last 20 years. However, she finds herself struggling to find how Runway fits into the changing media landscape and enlists the help of Andy and Nigel.
“As a person holding her position for 20 years, she kept her look but adapted it, as we do with time,” Streep told Vogue of her character's changing style and personality over the years. “But I almost had PTSD from wearing high heels for 16 weeks. I feel like I should get a Medal of Freedom!"

Before Streep starred in The Devil Wears Prada, she had already earned two Oscars and an Emmy, and her career has only skyrocketed since. She won her third Oscar for her performance in The Iron Lady and also received praise for her roles in Mamma Mia!, Doubt, The Post, Don't Look Up and more.
Meanwhile, Streep is also a mother to four children, whom she shares with estranged husband Don Gummer: Henry, Mamie, Grace and Louisa.

Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton

Blunt's Emily Charlton was introduced as Miranda's dedicated first assistant, desperate to seek her approval and make a name for herself in the world of fashion. Unfortunately, she was constantly one-upped by Andy and even had her beloved Paris Fashion Week taken away from her.
Luckily for Emily, she has moved on from Runway and is now working as a successful executive at a luxury fashion house. Unlike the first movie, Emily may hold more power, since she's competing against Runway and Miranda over "advertising dollars that Miranda desperately needs," per Variety.
Since her time on the fashion movie set, Blunt — who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the first film — furthered her acting career in films like Edge of Tomorrow, The Girl on the Train, A Quiet Place, Mary Poppins Returns and Oppenheimer, which earned her an Oscar nomination.
Shortly after starring in The Devil Wears Prada, she met John Krasinski, and they got married in July 2010. The couple share two daughters: Hazel and Violet.

Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling

Tucci stole viewers' hearts when he played Nigel Kipling, longtime Runway fashion editor and Miranda's confidant. Although his stylish character didn't initially relate to Andy, he found himself taking her under her wing and even showing her the ropes of Runway and the coveted fashion closet.
In the sequel, Nigel remains loyal to Miranda and continues to work at Runway.
"Nigel must’ve been always hiding away inside me,” Tucci told Vogue of his character. “There was a good deal of Nigel in me, and so I was just able to let it all out again."
Over the last two decades, Tucci has worked on several award-winning projects — including The Lovely Bones, Julie & Julia, The Hunger Games, Burlesque, Spotlight and Conclave. He won Emmy Awards for his performances in Monk, as well as his CNN food and travel docuseries Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, among others.
At the time of the first film's 2006 premiere, he was married to Kathryn Spath, with whom he welcomed three children — twins Isabel and Nicolo and daughter Camilla — but Kathryn died from cancer in 2009. The following year, Blunt introduced him to her sister, Felicity Blunt, and they got married in 2012. They have two children: Matteo and Emilia.
