They reunited on-screen in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, marking their first non-superhero collaboration

Zendaya and Tom Holland’srelationship began on a movie set, and nearly a decade later, they’re still sharing the big screen.

After first meeting while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, the pair went public with their romance in 2021. They later got engaged and quietly tied the knot, with Holland nonchalantly confirming their marriage in 2026 during interviews.

Zendaya and Holland have become fan favorites thanks to their adorable support for one another through the years. And their on-screen chemistry has only added to that admiration, as the duo continue to star alongside each other in films.

While the Spider-Man movies are the pair’s most recognizable collaboration, they aren’t the only projects that have brought Holland and Zendaya together on-screen. Most recently, they reunited for Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey, which hit theaters in July 2026.

Here are five times Zendaya and Tom Holland appeared together on-screen.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Spider-Man: Homecoming introduced audiences to Holland’s version of Peter Parker and Zendaya’s Michelle “MJ” Jones. Cast together in 2016, the two became close while filming, frequently appearing on each other’s Instagram accounts and spending time together off-set.

By the time the film’s press tour kicked off in 2017, they had been spotted together on multiple occasions.

On-screen, Holland’s character balances high school life with his newfound responsibilities as Spider-Man under Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) mentorship. The witty and observant MJ initially keeps her distance before revealing her nickname in the film’s closing moments. While the pair share relatively little screen time compared to later installments, Homecoming laid the groundwork for their relationship — both on-screen and off.

As their chemistry became increasingly obvious, romance rumors began to swirl. In July 2017, shortly after the film’s release, a source told PEOPLE that Holland and Zendaya had started seeing each other while filming Homecoming, though they were “super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye.” Another insider said the pair “challenge each other” and “make each other crack up,” adding that they shared a similar sense of humor.

Despite the speculation, both actors stated they were just friends. Zendaya said in an interview with Varietyin 2017 that Holland had become someone she leaned on, calling him “one of [her] best friends.”

Released two years after Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home picks up in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame as Peter joins his classmates on a school trip across Europe.

Hoping to leave superhero duties behind, Peter instead finds himself recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to battle a series of mysterious elemental creatures alongside Quentin Beck, better known as Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).

Amid the action, Peter’s feelings for MJ grow with the pair sharing their first on-screen kiss near the film’s conclusion, after MJ discovers his secret identity.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter’s identity as Spider-Man is exposed to the world, and he turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help, only for a spell gone wrong to tear open the multiverse and bring villains (and eventually Spider-Men) from other universes into his world.

Throughout the film, MJ remains Peter’s closest confidante, standing by his side as they go through the chaos together. The movie ends on an emotional note as Peter chooses to erase himself from everyone’s memory — including MJ’s — to save the multiverse.

Holland and Zendaya’s real-life relationship finally became public during the film’s rollout. In July 2021, months before No Way Home premiered, the longtime friends seemingly confirmed years of dating speculation when they were photographed sharing a kiss inside a car in Los Angeles.

A few months later, the pair made things Instagram official. Celebrating Zendaya’s birthday in September, Holland shared a behind-the-scenes mirror selfie from the Spider-Man set alongside the caption, “My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your [sic] up xxx.” Zendaya replied simply, “Calling now♥️.”

Five years later, Holland returned as Peter in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth installment in the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise. In the film, Peter adjusts to his new life, in which no one knows who he is.

By the time Brand New Day arrived in July 2026, Zendaya and Holland were far more serious. Months of engagement speculation started in January 2025 after Zendaya was spotted wearing a huge diamond on that finger.

PEOPLE confirmed shortly after the Golden Globes that year that the couple were engaged after Holland proposed during the holidays at one of Zendaya’s family homes.

They ended up tying the knot, with Holland seemingly confirming the marriage during a June 2026 interview with Esquire. After revealing that his grandmother had seen AI wedding photos and thought she hadn’t been invited to their ceremony, the actor explained that wasn’t the case because “they were all there.”

When asked to share more details about the secret ceremony, he simply replied, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”

Holland and Zendaya left the superhero universe for the first time in Nolan’s epic The Odyssey in July 2026.

Based on Homer’s ancient Greek poem, the film follows Odysseus’ long and perilous journey home after the Trojan War. Holland stars as Telemachus, Odysseus’ son, while Zendaya plays the goddess Athena, who guides and protects Odysseus throughout his quest.

By the time The Odyssey premiered, Zendaya and Holland were officially married. Holland confirmed their marriage during an appearance on the U.K. podcast Dish.

Asked who he’d most like to take on a vacation to Greece, the actor replied, “I think probably my wife would be pretty good,” before joking that it would be strange to leave Zendaya behind in favor of their Odyssey costar Matt Damon.
