Savannah Guthrie appeared on the Today show on October 30.
For Halloween, the co-anchor dressed up as Rachel from Friends.
Meanwhile, co-anchor Jenna Bush Hager transformed into Phoebe.
The Today show just surprised us all with an impeccable pop culture reference—it can only be described as “the one where Savannah Guthrie nailed Halloween.” Appearing on the show on October 30, the co-anchor joined Jenna Bush Hager in an homage to the iconic sit-com Friends.

In a skit set at the famous Central Perk coffee house, Guthrie appeared as Rachel Green, the famous character played by Jennifer Aniston. Guthrie cot into character in a sleeveless denim top, an apron and a black miniskirt. To top it all off, she rocked Rachel’s iconic layered lob hair cut.

As for Hager, she slipped into the shoes of Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe Buffay, rocking long blonde hair and a boho patterened maxidress. During the skit, the pair sang the famous “Smelly Cat” song and brought out a real cat.

“This is right in my wheelhouse,” Savannah told TODAY.com ahead of the skit. “I was probably a little younger than those characters, but I aspired to be them. They were living in New York City; they were young and single. So, it spoke to me as another young person trying to make her way in the world.”
“You identify with the characters 100%. The lines are iconic and everyone knows exactly what you’re referring to when you say to them, ‘We were on a break,’” she added.
“Every generation has those shows that are more than just something you watch to waste time, that are really more of a cultural milestone for you,” she concluded.
