Ryan Gosling may be the star of Project Hail Mary, but he also knows that none of his accomplishments mean anything since he can't actually defend against a Hail Mary.

Gosling addressed the elephant in the room when he joined football legends Jason and Travis Kelce on Wednesday's New Heights podcast, after Jason introduced the actor by listing a bunch of his credits.

"You had to call out Remember the Titans," Gosling said of his memorable 2000 football drama. "Never forget that I'm a liability at the corner[back position]."

The biographical Disney film followed the 1971 T.C. Williams High School football team as they navigated a coaching change and desegregation. Starring alongside Denzel Washington and Will Patton, Gosling, who was 19 at the time of release, played Alan Bosley, a holdover from the all-white squad who is struggling to keep his starting spot on the new defense. He eventually loses out to cocky former running back Petey Jones (Donald Faison), only for Alan to find his way back into the lineup after Petey pulls a dive move. Alan temporarily redeems himself, until the championship game when he realizes that the better player is on the bench, and so he volunteers to return to the sidelines in favor of Petey.

In the end, Alan's selfless move helps the Titans win the state title, but Gosling's reputation has never recovered. People on the internet repeatedly like to remind everyone that he was a "liability" in Remember the Titans.

"It doesn't matter what I accomplish in my life, there will be someone in the comment section that says, 'Never forget he's an absolute liability at the corner,'" Gosling admits. Then, as Jason begins to list off some of Gosling's bonafides, the three-time Oscar nominee cuts him off: "'He's a liability at the corner — who cares? Get Petey in there, ASAP!'"

In Alan's defense, when he is first benched, his outraged dad declares that Alan was a five-time player of the week during the previous season. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't keep up with the new competition.

But Gosling is thankful to finally gain some legitimacy by appearing on a show hosted by two football players on the level of the Kelces.

"The fact that you guys would have me, knowing I'm a liability at the corner," he said, "it means a lot to me."

"We're all about team players," Jason responded. "And that was team move."

And still, as good as Gosling's Mickey Mouse Club dance moves were in Titans, his lack of corner skills don't make him the most memorable player.
