Meanwhile, the outlet cited outside pressure on the monarchy after the ex-Prince Andrew’s arrest. It referenced Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan, who argued Charles should step aside. The magazine also cited The Daily Beast’s Tom Sykes. He said William “must now be allowed to get on with reshaping the monarchy.” British historian Robert Jobson added that the Firm had “never” in his lifetime “looked so vulnerable.”

In turn, a Star source said, “There’s a feeling of panic behind palace walls right now.” However, the insider connected that mood to the royal couple’s response, saying, “It feels like the hounds are at the door.” The source also added, “[The controversy] could spell the end of the public’s support for the crown.”
