Pat McAfee pushed back firmly on suggestions that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Madison Square Garden wedding was "tacky," calling the July 3 celebration one of the best nights of his life during a recap on his ESPN show.
"That was the most spectacular evening I've ever been a part of," McAfee said. "I'm sure there was something that I agreed to, to not talk about it. But there's no phones in there. There's no notes section, no writing of anything. So it's literally all just memory."
McAfee, who attended with his wife Samantha, directly addressed critics who had labeled aspects of the Kelce-Swift event tacky, after reports claimed the star duo didn't even know some of their wedding guests.

"So anybody that's saying anything negative about that place, not granted shutting down parts of the city and that whole thing, you guys can have your thoughts on that," he said.
"The event itself was like the most spectacular grand thing I've ever seen in my entire life. No buffets everywhere. I was told it was tacky,” he added.

He also dismissed longtime skepticism that the couple's relationship had been manufactured for business purposes.
"Everybody thought it was like a arranged situation for the business," McAfee said. "And I think we always believed in it because Travis would be the perfect person for Taylor, basically. And that wedding was a perfect night. They absolutely showcased that they are in love. It was very obvious."
Swift and Kelce married before roughly 1,000 guests at the New York City venue, with the ceremony officiated by Adam Sandler and no traditional bridal party.
Swift's brother Austin served as her "man of honor," while Kelce's brother Jason was his best man.

The reception featured performances from Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, who reportedly played a song live for the first time in decades, with Swift joining them onstage at one point.
Guests included Brad Pitt, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone and the entirety of Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs roster, including an injured Patrick Mahomes, who McAfee said was "in the middle of the dance floor."
McAfee also acknowledged being surprised to receive an invitation at all.
"We probably didn't understand why we were invited, but we were very excited and thankful," he said. "We had a blast. It was incredible."
