Olivia Rodrigo did not attend the 2026 Met Gala but was spotted at an after-party.

The singer wore a vintage Vivienne Westwood dress.

Rodrigo just hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

Olivia Rodrigo seems pretty dressed up for a girl who wasn’t at the Met Gala. Although the singer didn’t grace the Met steps on the first Monday in May, she still joined in on the celebrations later that night. She was seen arriving at the Saint Laurent Met Gala after-party at downtown hot spot People’s, wearing a Vivienne Westwood crochet minidress from the designer’s fall/winter 1994 collection.

The printed blue number featured a low-cut boat neckline with fringe sleeves and a crochet floral appliqué on the side of the chest. Rodrigo finished the look with nude heeled sandals and styled her hair with a deep side part. She was styled by Chloë and Chenelle Delgadillo, and the dress was sourced at Nordic Poetry, a vintage store in London. (The brand happily celebrated the news on Instagram.)

Rodrigo was missed at last night’s Met Gala, especially since she was already in town to host Saturday Night Live just two days prior, on May 2. However, the lead-up to both events can be hectic; SNL hosts and performers usually spend the week before the show rehearsing and working on sketches. It’s not uncommon for stars to have multiple fittings before the Met Gala, too. It’s possible the singer couldn’t swing both.

However, we’re about to see a lot more of Rodrigo as she’s releasing her next album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, on June 12, and she’ll be going on tour this fall.

“I was really excited to write about joy, love, and passion in a way that I had never really done,” she said of her new music in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “Most of my big songs are about being sad, angry, heartbroken.”

Rodrigo first attended the Met Gala in 2021, then returned in 2022 and 2023. Our fingers are crossed for her return in 2027.
