Latto responded to parenting criticism after someone called her out for flying with her baby daughter

“Good thing this not yo child bitch boy,” the rapper said in a blunt reply to the critic’s comment on X

Latto shared a blunt message in response to criticism of her decision to fly with her baby daughter.

After the 27-year-old rapper (born Alyssa Michelle Stephens) shared a video on X of herself pushing a stroller at an airport, surrounded by planes, on Wednesday, July 15, a critic called her out for traveling by air with her young daughter, whom she welcomed with boyfriend 21 Savage (born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) earlier this year.

“No amount of money would allow me to put my newborn on a plane. I struggle with ear pops as a grown man,” the social media critic wrote on Thursday, July 16, in response to the clip, which has garnered more than 1 million views. The following day, Latto responded.

“Good thing this not yo child bitch boy,” the rapper replied on X on Friday, July 17.

Latto’s response to the critic’s concern over her parenting and baby’s well-being comes after she shared several more snaps of the little one — including a photo of the baby tucked under a blanket on a plane — on X on July 15, nearly two months after she first confirmed her daughter’s birth.

According to the Mayo Clinic, air travel “is typically safe for most healthy, full-term infants after the first few weeks,” though “some healthcare professionals suggest not traveling for the first few months.”

“Experts caution against flying in the first seven days after a baby is born,” the academic medical center’s website states — a timeline that several major airlines seem to follow.

United Airlines states on its website that the airline “cannot fly infants younger than 7 days old.” American Airlines has a slightly different policy, with its website stating, “We welcome infants as young as 2 days old, but infants under 7 days old must have a doctor’s letter stating that they are medically cleared to travel.”

Latto seemed to confirm that she’d welcomed her first baby in an Instagram video teasing her new album Big Mama on May 18, sharing clips of herself throughout her pregnancy. She later confirmed in an interview with Apple Music, published on May 29, that she and 21 Savage, 33, had welcomed their daughter.

“There were tears, and anxiety was through the roof,” Latto said of welcoming the baby in the Apple Music interview. “It’s what I wanted, but I was just like, ‘Wait, this real life, like am I really ready?’ But ultimately, [I] obviously had her and I’m glad I made the decision to do it.”

The rapper first announced that she was expecting her first baby in March by dropping the cover for her Big Mama album and the music video for the single “Business & Personal.”

Latto confirmed she was dating 21 Savage in September 2025 after years of rumors. She also referred to the 33-year-old — who is also father to three other children, sons Kamari and Ashaad and daughter Rhian — as her “husband” at the time.
