Meghan Markle celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8 by sharing a never-before-seen photo of herself and her 4-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet.
The photo was taken by “Papa Sussex,” also known as Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle let her Instagram followers in on a sweet moment between mother and daughter on March 8, as the Duchess of Sussex celebrated International Women’s Day with a photo of herself and daughter Princess Lilibet.
The As Ever founder and her 4-year-old daughter were snapped by none other than Prince Harry enjoying a sunny day at the beach, the two holding one another close as they sat on rocks in front of the water.
“For the woman she will one day be…” Meghan wrote alongside the photo. “Happy International Women’s Day.” She gave photo credits to “Papa Sussex”—also known as Harry.
Since rejoining Instagram on January 1, 2025, Meghan has recognized International Women’s Day both last year and this year. Last year, she shared a never-before-seen photo of Lilibet with Harry along with a carousel of photos including shots of Meghan with her mother, Doria Ragland, and Meghan with Harry.

“Happy International Women’s Day!” she wrote last year. “Celebrating the strong women around us & the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.”
Meghan occasionally shares glimpses into Lilibet’s life on Instagram, as well as her son Prince Archie, 6. When Lilibet turned 4 years old last June, Meghan wrote alongside two new photos of her daughter, “Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives—and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!”

In Meghan’s Netflix holiday special With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, released last December, the Duchess of Sussex shared of her daughter that “Lili really likes trying to be a grown-up lady at the moment.” But, at 4, Lilibet is still very much a girl, and Meghan gave her another shoutout on International Day of the Girl back in October.
“To all the girls—this world is yours,” Meghan wrote. “Do everything you can to protect your rights, use your voice, support each other. We will do the same for you. It’s your right and our responsibility. Go get ‘em girl!🏃♀️”

Speaking to People last year, Meghan said of launching her As Ever lifestyle brand—and using a photo of herself and Lilibet to do so—“Being able to have my own little girl, as I’ve spent so much of my life championing the rights of girls and women, and to be able to see this as a multigenerational story—Archie is, of course, included in that, my husband is, of course, included in that—but I love the heritage feeling of it and knowing this is something that I can create in front of my daughter and teach her what it’s like to be a working mom. This is something that hopefully can be part of her legacy, too.”

Across the pond, Kate Middleton also recognized International Women’s Day, writing in a social media tribute, “Today we celebrate the kindness, resilience, and quiet strength of women in our families and communities. This day is about standing up alongside one another—recognizing the loving influence of women, who nurture and hope, encourage others, and help make the world kinder and more compassionate.” She signed the message “C” for Catherine, indicating it had come directly from her.
