It doesnât matter how successful you are or how regimented your diet isânobodyâs immune to the occasional craving. Even the Hollywood heroes and professional athletes youâd assume eat follow the strictest diets still have their weak spots, whether itâs Dwayne âThe Rockâ Johnsonâs love of cornbread with peanut butter and honey or Travis Kelceâs affinity for Uncrustables.
The same goes for Matt Damon.
As he geared up to play Odysseus in Christopher Nolanâs The Odyssey, Damon adjusted his eating habits to meet the physical demands of the role. Heâs recently committed to a fairly strict gluten-free lifestyle, which puts some of Damonâs longtime staples like bread, pasta, and beer off the table.
Instead, heâs focused on what he calls the âfunctional stuffâ: protein shakes, salmon dinners, and veggie-forward sides that keep him fueled through long days on set.
But even with that disciplined approach, Damon still has room for a fast food run every now and then. In a recent interview, he shared his go-to drive-thru combo, and itâs hard to argue with his picks.
Matt Damonâs Favorite Fast Food Order
In an interview with Delish, Matt Damon revealed his favorite fast food stop: In-N-Out.
Truthfully, that doesnât come as much of a surprise. The California burger chain has long been a go-to for Hollywoodâs biggest names, from Jason Momoa and Kelly Ripa to Zendaya. Between the fresh beef patties, made-to-order burgers, and cult-favorite secret menu, itâs easy to see why In-N-Out inspires the kind of loyalty it does.

But when it comes to fries, Damon is headed elsewhere.
âI love In-N-Out, but they donât have the best fries. I would have to default to the McDonaldâs fries,â he shared.
Weâre inclined to agree, thatâs the right call.
McDonaldâs World Famous Fries have been setting the standard for decades. Made with a blend of Russet Burbank and Shepody potatoes, theyâre fried until crisp and golden. Better yet, theyâre remarkably consistent. More often than not, you know exactly what youâre getting: a piping-hot order thatâs crispy, perfectly salted, and so good you might not even reach for the ketchup.
McDonaldâs may not currently hold the title for the best fast food fries in America, depending on who you ask, but theyâre still one of the single most iconic items on any drive-thru menu. Plenty of chains make great fries, but few have fries that people crave the way they crave McDonaldâs.
So if Matt Damon decides to cash in on a cheat day after wrapping up the press tour for The Odyssey and closing the chapter of one of the most physically demanding performances of his career, weâd like to think heâs making two stops: In-N-Out for the burger and McDonaldâs for the fries. Thatâs a drive-thru combo worth the extra stop in our book.
