Princess Kate is known for her warm interactions with children and has three kids with Prince William

Kate Middleton met two youngsters with royal monikers during her visit to Wales with Prince William.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Powys on Feb. 26 ahead of St. David's Day, Wales' national holiday, where Princess Kate met two babies with royal name connections.

"Very nice to meet you. And who's this?" Princess Kate said as she met a woman and a baby in a video shared to X by Getty Images Entertainment.

"This is Will," the well-wisher seemed to say.

"Hello, Will," the Princess of Wales apparently replied with a smile, before moving to greet the woman and baby beside her.

"Hello, hi, very nice to meet you," Kate said as she shook the second woman's hand and smiled at the baby.

"Hello, Lily," the well-wisher apparently said, introducing the Princess of Wales to the little one.

The women said yes when Princess Kate asked them if they "know each other well," and she smiled for a picture with them, before moving along at the walkabout. The Princess of Wales is nicknamed the Children's Princess for her warm way with kids and has three children of her own at home: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.

Names carry great weight in the British royal family, and the tots that Princess Kate met both had names linked to the royal family tree.

The Princess of Wales' husband is Prince William, 43, and his late mother, Princess Diana, apparently pitched the pick. Historian Robert Lacey previously wrote for PEOPLE that Diana proposed the moniker in a nod to William the Conqueror, victor of the significant Battle of Hastings in 1066 and the first Norman King of England.

The name choice of William may have also honored the late Prince William of Gloucester. King Charles' cousin died in a flying accident at age 30 in 1972, a decade before Charles and Diana's first son was born.

Lily, meanwhile, is tied to Lilibet, the childhood nickname of the late Queen Elizabeth. Lilibet is also the moniker that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose for their daughter, Princess Lilibet, 4.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's daughter was born in California in June 2021, and they named her Lilibet Diana in homage to the late Queen's childhood nickname and Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, who died following a car accident in Paris in 1997 at age 36.

Prince William and Princess Kate also honored his mother by choosing Diana as a middle name for their daughter, whose full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
