BeforeJimmy Fallon made it big, he was sneaking on to television sets to get an inside look at the entertainment industry.

The talk show host recently revealed that back in 1998, he snuck onto the set of Seinfeld as they were taping in the show's finale—and actually stole a prop from star Jerry Seinfeld's apartment.

Fallon spilled the secret during a taping of The Tonight Show on Tuesday (Jan. 13) while playing an intense game of hot potato with guest Grace Van Patten. When the potato landed on him, he was required to truthfully answer one of Van Patten's questions.

When Van Patten asked the host if he had ever stolen anything, Fallon fessed up, admitting that he swiped a candy bar as a kid—and as an adult, stole a toothbrush from the set of Seinfeld.

"The last thing that I stole, and this is true, I went to the finale of Seinfeld. I actually snuck into the finale of the show Seinfeld," Fallon revealed. "I went to Jerry's bathroom and I stole a toothbrush."

Fallon, who would have been on the cusp of being cast on Saturday Night Live at the time, wasn't famous and definitely wasn't supposed to be there. But through the years, he says he's kept the prop—and even told Seinfeld about the incident years later.

"I snuck onto the set of your last episode. No one checked us for tickets and we just walked in and we sat in the crowd," Fallon shared in an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee back in 2014. "I took a toothbrush out of your [set 's] bathroom. The blue toothbrush with white bristles."

Thankfully, Seinfeld found the whole thing "so funny" and when Fallon offered to return the toothbrush, the actor firmly said he didn't want it.
