Fentanyl is a "potent synthetic opioid drug" that can be used for pain relief and as an anesthetic, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The drug, which can be found in counterfeit pills, is "approximately 100 times more potent than" morphine and 50 times stronger than heroin.
