Heather Rae El Moussa just shut down fans’ hopes for a major change on Season 2 of The Flip Off.
The HGTV competition series starring Heather, Tarek El Moussa, and Christina Haack was officially renewed for a second season last year. Season 1, which premiered in January 2025, saw Heather and Tarek face off against Haack to score the biggest profit for their respective house flips.
Before filming for Season 2 began, Heather teased fans with the possibility of herself and Haack competing against Tarek in Season 2. While answering fan questions via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, August 5, though, Heather set the record straight on which stars will team up together in the show’s new episodes.
“Will you team up with Christina?” read the fan question. In response, Heather wrote, “No. I think you’ll definitely love a major twist that is in this season though. None of us saw this coming.”
Another fan question read, “I really want to know if you and Christina are flipping together!” Heather replied, “Let’s be real, we’re always up to something together! You’ll have to wait and see this season.”

Haack was married to Tarek from 2009 to 2018, and the pair share two kids, Taylor and Brayden. The exes starred together on HGTV’s Flip or Flop, which ran for 10 seasons from 2013 to 2022. Tarek went on to wed Heather in 2021, and the couple welcomed their son, Tristan, in 2023. Haack was married to Ant Anstead from 2018 to 2021, and the pair share a son, Hudson. Haack, who was also married to Josh Hall from 2021 to 2025, has been dating her boyfriend, Christopher Larocca, since 2024.

Last month, Heather confirmed that Season 2 of The Flip Off was in production, and confirmed that is still the case in another Wednesday Instagram Story post. “We don’t have an official air date yet, so stay tuned. We are still currently filming.” In a follow-up post, she added, “We’re in the middle of filming right now and not sure when it’ll air but so excited for you to see this season!”

Heather also replied to a fan who asked, “Do you have another great line up of judges this flip off 2?” She teased, “So many great judges this time around, some surprising ones too.”
Heather’s confirmation that she and Haack will not be Season 2 partners adds to the theories that Haack will compete with Larocca. The show’s stars have previously hinted at Larocca’s involvement by sharing photos and videos of him on set.
Haack addressed the theories in a March interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Umm, yeah. He will be involved a little bit,” she teased at the time.
