Jessie Buckley at the 2026 Golden Globes

You are what you eat, and Hamnet star Jessie Buckley clearly ate some award-worthy soup while filming Chloé Zhao's powerful Shakespeare drama.

Buckley won big at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday, taking home one of the top acting awards, and she made sure to thank one specific crew member for making "delicious" soup on set during production.

"I'd really like to thank our [key] grip," Buckley said, shouting out crew member Tomasz Sternicki. "During shooting, [he] started to disappear a little bit ... and I found him one day at the back of his truck, and he was chopping up potatoes, and onions, and meat. He brought his ginormous cast-iron pot over from Poland, and he was making soup, and this soup started turning up on set. It was delicious."

Buckley smiled big as she added, "Thanks for bringing your pot to set."

Buckley beat out her fellow nominees Jennifer Lawrence (Die My Love), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), Julia Roberts (After the Hunt), Tessa Thompson (Hedda), and Eva Victor (Sorry, Baby).

In her speech, Buckley paid her respects to "the incredible women" she was honored to stand beside in the category.

"I mean, Julia Roberts, you are a hero to us all," Buckley said. "Thank you. Jennifer, Renate, Eva, Tessa — I'd watch you anytime, anywhere. You blow my mind."

Along with her costars, director, and producers, she also thanked "the 400 extras" she worked with in the film.

"I adore you," she said. "I would rave in that Globe [Theatre] for the rest of my life with you."

Buckley also cracked a joke about how her husband Freddie has "really been enjoying the free canapés and cocktails, so thank you so much."

"This is a real, real honor," she added seriously. "I love what I do, and I love being part of this industry."
