Ella Langley is setting a lofty goal for herself which has rarely been done in country music. The You Look Like You Love Me singer is calling on fans to help push one of her new songs to the top of the charts, enabling her to make “country music history,” as she said online.

Her tune Choosin’ Texas is currently in a heated race for the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 alongside Man I Need by Olivia Dean. The multiple Country Music Association (CMA) winner believes that a late surge could put her new hit over the top.

Ella is on the verge of achieving a rare feat in the industry. On her Instagram story, the music superstar made a pitch to fans saying, “if we have one last push in iTunes, we might make country music history.” She adds that fewer than 10 women in country music history have reached #1 on the Billboard charts.

Choosin’ Texas has been skyrocketing up numerous musical charts, reaching #1 this week on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart. It’s only the fourth country song by a lead woman to top that list in their 13-year history. The song was written by Ella along with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor. The inspiration came while on a retreat.

Last year, Ella made headlines with her stunning wardrobe ahead of the 2025 CMAs. She made history with her song You Look Like You Love Me, which won the awards for Single, Song, and Music Video of the Year.

Ella says at the retreat they wrote a bunch of songs, but Choosin’ Texas is one which really stuck with her. Miranda is from Texas and told plenty of wild, captivating stories about the trouble she got into there.

Choosin’ Texas will serve as the lead single for Ella’s upcoming album, Dandelion, which comes out on April 10th. In support of that album, she’ll be kicking off her Dandelion Tour on May 7 in Toledo, Ohio. Her tour wraps up on August 15th.
