A tweet that Dylan Sprouse sent to Jared Leto in 2018 has resurfaced amid new sexual assault accusations against the actor-musician.
The former child star asked Leto about his success rate “now that you’ve slid into the dm’s of every female model aged 18-25.”
Ten women are accusing the Oscar winner of sexual assault in a new BBC documentary.
As Jared Leto faces new accusations of sexual assault by 10 women, a tweet sent by Dylan Sprouse nearly a decade ago has come to light.
“Yo @JaredLeto now that you’ve slid into the dm’s of every female model aged 18-25, what would you say your success rate is?” Sprouse, then 25, wrote on Twitter (now X) on May 15, 2018. At the time, the former Disney Channel star was newly dating his now-wife, Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin.

Over the years since his shady tweet, Sprouse has never publicly acknowledged it nor the impetus for why he wrote what he did.
Leto didn’t respond to Sprouse’s tweet — but interestingly, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn entered the chat. “He starts at 18 on the Internet?” Gunn asked in a comment he later deleted. Three years later, when he took over the helm of The Suicide Squad sequel, Gunn omitted the Joker, Leto’s character in the 2016 film, from his script.
Representatives for Sprouse, Leto, and Gunn did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.

In June 2025, Air Mail published “The Cult of Leto,” the accounts of nine women accusing the actor-musician of sexual misconduct (which he “expressly denied”). Two months later, Gunn trashed Leto’s band in the season 2 premiere of Peacemaker, as well as in a post-credits scene.

“Jeez, anyone’s better than Thirty Seconds to Mars,” John Cena’s character Chris insists in a conversation comparing them to early 1990s two-hit wonders, Spin Doctors. “That garage band I was in for two seconds is better than Thirty Seconds to Mars.”

The latest allegations against Leto were first published by the BBC on Wednesday, outlining the claims of 10 women accusing the Academy Award winner of sexual assault, including one who was 17 at the time of the alleged assault (which allegedly took place in California, where the age of consent is 18).
Their stories will be featured in the network’s upcoming documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. Nine of the women are publicly sharing their claims against the actor for the first time.
Leto has denied all accusations. “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” he said in a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly. “These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
Sprouse, who hasn’t tweeted since 2021, is expecting his first child, a girl, with Palvin.
