iTV has confirmed the airdate for its upcoming ‘Corriedale’ crossover event, a rare on-screen collaboration between long-running soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale. The network is promoting the episode as one of its most ambitious events to date.
iTV released a first look trailer on its official channels, teasing the storyline with the question, “But what has brought the residents of Weatherfield across the Pennines to Yorkshire, and how have the characters from the two soaps ended up in the catastrophic collision?”
According to iTV, Coronation Street stars Jack P. Shepard, Kate Ford, and Emmerdale’s Johnny McPherson join Danny Miller and Vicky Myers will appear in the hour long episode, with the rest of the cast to be announced closer to airdate.
iTV has scheduled the episode to air on January 5, 2026.

iTV also announced a scheduling change that will follow the crossover. Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale will shift to five episodes per week, creating a new nightly ‘soap power hour.’ For the first time, Coronation Street will air across five consecutive weeknights on a regular basis
The network also teased that ‘Corriedale’ will spark a wave of fallout across both series. Hinting that the fallout of the crash will give rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets, and lies.

Fans took to the YouTube comments to show their support and curiosity for the crossover event. One user shared, “wow…I don’t know what to make of this to be honest, I feel like it could either be an amazing idea or an absolutely terrible one. these soaps are amazing separate, but together they could be great or a car crash. I’m interested tho”
With a second user adding, “Cain and David must be in this, amongst other legandary characters, 2 biggest shows in England coming together must be mandatory to be legendary”
A third user jokingly shared, “So… the Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame of British soap operas, pretty much?”
