Comedian Chelsea Handler is developing a series about a topic familiar to reality fans. After all, the series was written by one of Sonja Morgan’s former interns, Zoe Young. And it features a townhouse!
Former Real Housewives of New York star Sonja is well-known for keeping a squad of interns at her townhouse. While Sonja’s reasoning for this quirk is unclear, it made for entertaining television. “The interns are working side-by-side with me because they are here to learn, and I get an extra set of hands to help me out while they observe,” Sonja previously explained.

According to Variety, the possible series is titled Townhouse. Chelsea would potentially star as the lead in the Hulu series and serve as the executive producer. Plus, Zoe would also be an executive producer for the potential show.
“A washed-up reality star and her live-in entourage of misfits as they scramble to rehab her image and reboot her career. When her estranged daughter unexpectedly moves into their crumbling Manhattan townhouse, the TV has-been is confronted with the one role she’s spent her entire life avoiding: motherhood,” the description of the series reads. The studio involved in the project is 20th Television.

However, it seems as if the character might not be based on Sonja. An insider told Page Six, “Sonja’s hardly washed up, and she certainly isn’t estranged from her daughter. She and Quincy [Morgan] have a great relationship.” Of course, Quincy is Sonja’s daughter. Reportedly, Zoe was Sonja’s intern during her final RHONY season and popped up in three episodes.
Meanwhile, Sonja sold her beloved townhouse in 2024. The iconic home was like an additional housewife on RHONY. In addition, Sonja is one of the cast members on the new E! docuseries, The Golden Life. The show, which features several RHONY legends, will follow the ladies as they enjoy their new chapter in Palm Beach.
The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock.
