Carly Rae Jepsen just shared an adorable Instagram story—and it looks like congratulations are in order. The Canadian “Call Me Maybe” singer recently welcomed her first child with husband Cole M.G.N.!
When did Carly Rae Jepsen get married?
Jepsen and Grammy-winning music producer Cole Marsden Grief-Neill (a.k.a. Cole M.G.N.) met during a songwriting session back in 2021. The pair grew closer, working as musical collaborators on songs such as “No Labels I Love You, “ and began dating in 2022. During a month-long European vacation, the lovebirds made it official and got engaged at the Hotel Castello di Reschio in Umbria.
Last October, the pair tied the knot at the trendy Chelsea Hotel in New York City. With only 100 guests in attendance, their wedding included a small ceremony in the storied hotel’s Bard Room. And yes, if you’ve done the math correctly, Jepsen was pregnant at the time. So technically, there were 101 guests at the intimate event.
When did Jepsen announce her pregnancy?
The singer-songwriter announced her baby news in a sweet Instagram post last November. Along with a carousel of black-and-white photos, Jepsen wrote three simple words: “Oh hi baby.” But the pregnancy pics of the overjoyed expectant parents didn’t end there.

Fans were treated to more Instagram updates from the soon-to-be first-time mommy. A few weeks after her birth announcement, Jepsen posted an outdoorsy belly bump-baring pic as she neared the six-month mark, with the caption, “Hiking at a pace much slower than usual. And if snacks were important before, they are vital now.”
As it turns out, baby news wasn’t the only thing Jepsen had to celebrate in November. The celeb also turned 40, gushing (in another Instagram post), “Forty and fabulous exclamation mark! Milestone bday. If I’m doing my job right, things will just get weirder from here on out.” She went on to add, “Here’s to more adventures, more incredible friendships, traveling with a baby (help!) and just more love all around. Can’t wait for it all.”
How did the singer announce the birth of her first baby?
After an exciting nine months packed with a magical wedding, a major birthday, vacations, and so much more, Jepsen finally gave birth a few weeks ago. While the new mom kept things private at first, she recently shared a sweet Instagram Stories selfie holding her newborn. Jepsen also added, “Last 2 weeks have been the best of my life. Welcome to the world little one.”
