The Milwaukee Brewers finally got the party their city had been denied for generations after winning their first World Series in franchise history, but baseball's loudest critics outside Tropicana Field weren't impressed.
A routine grounder sealed the Brewers' first championship, and Milwaukee's 57-year drought ended in a rush of champagne and celebrations after players stormed the field.
The Brewers finished the Rays 4-1 in Game 5 after a wild, lopsided series that still managed to stir late drama following the controversial Game 4 finish. That didn't stop MLB fans from calling the series the most boring ever.

• 'Most boring World Series ever' slammed as sports fans feel thoroughly let down
Brewers starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski shut down the Rays for nearly six innings before Milwaukee’s bullpen closed it out. He gave up only two hits, issued one walk, and threw 86 pitches to the Rays, posting a 1.89 ERA.
The rookie righty grabbed the win as Tampa Bay’s bats fizzled after managing just four hits all night. Rays slugger Junior Caminero finished with one hit in four plate appearances.

Milwaukee took an early second-inning lead when Cooper Pratt drove in Brice Turang, but the Brewers tagged out on his extra-base hits. David Hamilton padded the lead in the fifth after ripping a single that drove in Pratt.
Brewers catcher William Contreras delivered a sixth-inning double to score Christian Yelich, then Pratt lifted a sacrifice fly that brought Contreras home. Contreras then took home World Series MVP honors after batting .381 with four RBIs.
The Rays finally scored in the ninth after catcher Liam Hicks doubled with two outs and Left fielder Chandler Simpson drove him in with another double.
Brewers reliever Trevor Megill then induced a groundout from Richie Palacios to second to officially end the season. Milwaukee fans celebrated after a finish that followed Tampa Bay's 12-inning Game 4 win after a contentious ninth-inning replay reversal went its way.

Brewers supporters accused officials of handing the Rays an escape route, with some fans saying the World Series was "rigged" after the overturned call ended Milwaukee's chances to win its first title in a sweep.
A 10-1 Brewers win in Game 3 was the main catalyst behind one viewer calling it the "Most boring World Series on record." Others called this year's World Series one of the most lopsided matchups in the tournament's 124-year history.
