Amber Tamblyn is feeling extra good about herself thanks to her husband David Cross.
On Thursday, April 16, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star, 42, shared a glowing photo of herself to Instagram alongside a reflective caption revealing how her comedian husband, 62, empowered her to feel more confident.
She wrote, "My husband took this photo of me recently, on a night when I was dreading the idea of getting a new headshot done. When I saw it, I was speechless."

"My silvering hair, which I love; the lines on my forehead, which I love even more; the flecks of green in my hazel eyes that most photos flatten to brown. He captured all of me in a single frame: the strength I carry, the wisdom I've earned, the beauty I claim as my own," she continued.
The photo did portray the actress and writer's natural beauty, from her skin's texture to her gray hair.
Tamblyn and Cross tied the knot in 2012, one year after they announced their August 2011 engagement. They welcomed their daughter, Marlow Alice, in 2017.

Embracing imperfection hasn't always come easy for Tamblyn, who, in 2024, published a piece for The New York Times about getting her ears pinned when she was 12 after landing her first "major role on a TV show" — seemingly a reference to her role as Emily Bowen in General Hospital.

"As a little girl I had ears that stuck out like big butterfly wings," she wrote in the essay. "Some kids at my school in Los Angeles would make fun of them, and I'd often stare at myself in the mirror wishing my ears would lay flat against my head."
"But once I knew millions of people all over the world would be judging me on their television screens, not just on a playground, that knowledge changed everything for me," Tamblyn continued.
Looking back, she wonders if the cosmetic surgery was a mistake. "Would I be less happy if I had fought against the desire to get my ears pinned back, if they still stuck out today? I don't know — but I do think about it often, and about my willingness to align myself with the industry's expectations," she wrote.
