Alysa Liu shared a special moment with Daniel Radcliffe during their visit to the Today show.

The gold medalist, 20, was beaming as she met with the Harry Potter star, 36, backstage at the morning show on Monday, March 2.

In videos shared by Today, Liu looked in disbelief as Radcliffe entered the room to give her— and her gold medals — a big hug. The actor excitedly gave her a high-five before they snapped a few selfies together on his phone.

"Oh my lord," Liu said in one moment.

The figure skater also offered to let Radcliffe wear her gold medal during their photo opp. "I wasn't going to ask," Radcliffe said before he decided not to put the medal around his neck.

"It feels like stolen valor," he joked as Liu continued telling him he could put it on. Radcliffe ultimately held the medal as he and Liu posed for another photo.

Radcliffe told Liu, “You being you was the most joyful thing I’ve watched," of her gold medal-winning performance in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

In the comments, the U.S. Figure Skating account poked fun at the similarities between Liu's gold medal win and Radcliffe's iconic portrayal of Harry Potter, who famously became a stand-out quidditch player in the popular film franchise.

The account wrote, "Gold snitch catcher 🤝 gold medalist."

Liu, who retired from figure skating altogether in 2022 before finding joy in the sport again in 2024, won two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

She won a gold medal for her free skate to “MacArthur Park" by Donna Summer on Thursday, Feb. 19, after winning gold for the team event on Feb. 8.

After winning her gold medal, Liu told PEOPLE she's not really sure if she "wants to be a role model," though she's aware that she's quickly becoming one.

Still, Liu said she's hesitant to give her fans too much advice on finding their own joy. "I wouldn't tell anyone to force their joy in something they don't actually like. I actually really enjoy the sport, and I don't know, it just comes naturally and it's really fun, spinning and stuff, gliding on the ice," she said in Milan on Feb. 20.

"Taking breaks is okay," added Liu. "Sometimes, taking a step back is what's needed to see the full picture."
