Alt-rockers Sponge are hopeful someone has seen their instruments.

The band behind ‘90s hits “Plowed,” “Molly (16 Candles Down the Drain)” and “Have You Seen Mary” had four guitars and two basses stolen from their trailer outside their hotel in College Park, Maryland.

Led by singer Vinnie Dombroski, Sponge performed nearby at The Fillmore Silver Spring Oct. 20 and said in a Facebook post that the instruments were pilfered overnight from the parking lot of the Holiday Inn while they slept. Their representative provided evidence of the theft report filed with Prince George’s County Police.

Sponge is asking anyone with information to contact Bobafrog@aol.com. The band is offering a $500 reward, no questions asked, for the return of their valuables.

Sponge is on tour with Candlebox and thanked their musical comrades for providing use of their instruments to perform Oct. 21 in Buffalo, New York, and the remainder of the tour that will hit cities including Cleveland, New York and Boston before wrapping in Sayreville, New Jersey, on Oct. 30.

"Thieves tried to silence the music, but due to the generosity from our tour mates in Candlebox and Reverend Guitars, we will play our shows and finish out the tour, including tonight’s show in Buffalo,” the band said in a statement to USA TODAY.

The items taken were:
