15 Celebrity Prenups So Outrageous, I'm Shocked Anyone Agreed To Sign Them

Sooo, turns out celebrity prenups can get way more specific than just deciding who gets the house. And once divorce agreements get involved, things somehow get even more complicated. Here are 15 celebrity prenups and divorce agreements that have been reported to include some truly wild details.

Note: Some details are based on court documents and published reports, while other reported details have not been independently verified.

1. Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's prenup has never been publicly released, but Forbes reported that it was said to include an infidelity clause requiring Timberlake to pay Biel at least $500,000 if he cheated. Biel and Timberlake remain married to this day and have two sons together.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had a prenup that kept much of their property and business interests separate, but their final divorce still required sorting through a huge real-estate portfolio. According to court documents, the Los Angeles Times reported that their settlement involved 21 properties between the two of them. These span across multiple states and include mansions, condos, ranches, office space, and undeveloped land. Kardashian kept properties, including the Hidden Hills home where she lived with their children, while Kanye kept properties, including his Wyoming holdings. Both waived spousal support, and their divorce was finalized in November 2022 after Kardashian had been declared legally single earlier that year.

3. Ariana Grande and real estate agent Dalton Gomez had a prenup when they married in 2021, and their divorce settlement included much more than a simple payout. People reported that, according to court documents, Grande would pay Gomez a one-time, tax-free $1.25 million payment. It was also revealed that there would be no future spousal support, and that Grande would give him half of the net proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home and cover up to $25,000 of his attorney fees. But the privacy terms were especially strict.

Grande and Gomez separated in February 2023, and their divorce was finalized in March 2024.4. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's prenup has drawn attention because reports over the years have claimed it included a sobriety-related provision tied to Urban's financial payout. Yahoo Entertainment reported that the alleged clause has circulated as part of coverage of their agreement, while the specifics have never been confirmed nor commented on by Kidman or Urban. Reports have indicated that Urban would receive $600,000 for every year he remained sober if the provision were triggered by a divorce. Their marriage ended when Kidman filed for divorce in September 2025, and the divorce was finalized in January 2026.

CBS News reported that Nordegren's eventual divorce settlement was widely estimated at around $100 million, substantially more than she had reportedly been entitled to under their original agreement. Woods and Nordegren officially divorced in August 2010, about nine months after reports of his affairs began surfacing. Their final settlement terms were not publicly disclosed, aside from an agreement to shared parenting of their two children.

6. In Kelly Clarkson's divorce from Brandon Blackstock, she kept their Montana ranch, but their settlement temporarily allowed Blackstock to continue living there as long as he paid Clarkson rent. According to court documents, the Blast reported that the rent was $2,000 per month. Their settlement also included details about personal property: Blackstock kept items including farm cattle, livestock, stock dogs, horses, several vehicles, snowmobiles, a golf simulator, and Patek Philippe watches, while Clarkson kept the family's pets, a flight simulator, and several vehicles of her own. Their divorce was finalized in March 2022.

When they divorced in 2019, an Amazon SEC filing disclosed that Scott would receive Amazon shares representing roughly 4% of the company, worth about $38.3 billion at the time. Bezos kept his remaining Amazon stake and retained voting authority over Scott's shares under their arrangement. Their divorce was finalized later that year.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey did not have a prenup when they married in 2002 — even though TMZ reported that Lachey had wanted one and Simpson ultimately refused to sign it. That became a much bigger deal when they divorced, because TMZ estimated that the couple had earned about $36 million during their three-year marriage. A lot of it came after their MTV reality show, Newlyweds, made them even more famous. Under California community property rules, Lachey could have pursued roughly half of the marital earnings.

The two eventually reached a settlement in which Lachey received significantly more than $1.5 million but less than half of the estimated $36 million, and court documents said they agreed not to disclose each other's financial assets.

9. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have also been linked to a reported infidelity clause in their prenup. Forbes reported that Zeta-Jones was rumored to be entitled to millions of dollars if Douglas cheated, on top of other financial protections reportedly tied to the marriage. But their prenup is private, so the exact amount and wording, if this is true, haven't been publicly confirmed by either of them. Zeta-Jones and Douglas are stillmarried as of 2026, more than 25 years after their 2000 wedding.

It was reported that both claimed ownership of the team after separating in 2009, even though they had a postnuptial agreement putting the Dodgers in Frank's name. The legal fight unfolded while the team was hundreds of millions of dollars in debt, and MLB eventually stepped in to oversee its finances. Frank ultimately agreed to sell the Dodgers, while Jamie received four of the family's homes and a $131 million buyout. Their legal bills reportedly topped $20 million, and the divorce was described at the time as possibly the most expensive in California history.

They later reached asettlement in which Jamie received $131 million, gave up any claim to the Dodgers, and kept four homes, while Frank kept two.

11. Mariah Carey and billionaire James Packer never actually made it down the aisle, but Entertainment Tonightreported that they negotiated an extremely detailed draft prenup before ending their engagement. One proposed term allegedly said jewelry or other personal items worth more than $250,000 wouldn't count as gifts unless Packer gave Carey a written statement explicitly saying they were. The draft also reportedly addressed Carey's clothing expenses and her use of Packer's private planes, and proposed paying her $6 million for every year of marriage, capped at $30 million. The couple ended their engagement in 2016, so none of those proposed terms ever took effect as a marital agreement.

News reported that Mathison received $118 million. It was also alleged that she negotiated a share of Ford's future earnings from movies he made during their marriage.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Irving challenged the agreement when they divorced four years later, arguing that she hadn't had independent legal representation when she signed it. A judge ultimately rejected the prenup, and Irving received a reported $100 million settlement. Their divorce was finalized in 1989.

14. Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan have been linked to one of the more unusual reported "lifestyle" provisions in a celebrity prenup. Forbes reported that the couple was said to have an agreement requiring weekly dates together and dedicated quality alone time for Chan. Zuckerberg and Chan have not publicly confirmed the reported term. They are still married as of 2026, having married in 2012 and having three children together.

BBC News reported that their agreement gave Diandra a share of certain acting earnings Michael had accumulated during the marriage and reportedly included language regarding future spin-offs.

When Michael later starred in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Diandra argued that the sequel was connected to the Gordon Gekko character he first played while they were married and that she was therefore entitled to a share of the money. A New York judgedismissed her case and later declined to revive it, ruling that the dispute belonged in California, where the couple had divorced.
