Kate has said Rani reminds her of mom Goldie
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell enjoy spending time with their granddaughter, Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa.
Kate Hudson's youngest child was born on Oct. 2, 2018, and already appears to be following in their family's entertainment footsteps. "She's got pop star energy, Rani Rose," Hudson said during an April 2026 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
The Oscar-nominated star of Song Sung Blue has also previously opened up about how Rani reminds her of Goldie. While on The Rachael Ray Show in September 2022, Kate said, "Rani sees beauty in everything. She dances through the streets, literally."
"She sings so everyone can hear her. A lot like mama ... and grandma," she continued. "My mom looked at her the other day and was like, 'I never want her to lose this.' Because she really, she feels it. She feels life."

In early December 2018 — two months after Kate and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, welcomed Rani — Goldie and Kurt were shown holding their new granddaughter in a picture Kate posted on Instagram.
"Grandma and Grandpa duty...or should I say Mr and Mrs Claus 🤶🎅," Kate captioned the photo, referring to the couple's roles in that year's The Christmas Chronicles.

At their family photo shoot for PEOPLE's 2020 World's Most Beautiful issue, Kate opened up about Goldie's meaningful impact on her as a person.
“My mom gave me the floor to be able to feel confident enough to go out and feel like my life could be my own,” she said.
Kate continued, “Mom was my greatest cheerleader. And it just [makes] me think about Rani ... ‘I hope I give her that kind of confidence,’ you know?”

For the special occasion, Goldie and Kurt dressed as a princess and prince, alongside their granddaughter, who was also in an enchanted ensemble, wearing a blue ballgown.
"Happy 4th birthday our precious Rani Rose🌹You are the real queen!" Goldie penned an Instagram post showing off their fairytale fashion.
